The Core Operations Team (COT), is chaired alternately by Steve Squyres, Principal Investigator for the Athena Instrument Payload, and Ray Arvidson, Deputy Principal Investigator. It consists of scientists and engineers who, at given times, are in the Command Trailer controlling the rover through WITS and interfacing with the additional science team members located at home institutions and on site.
