Time constraints during the tests didn't allow for NMR and MB measurements to be done during the day. Collected samples similar to those in the science experiments, with one side covered with red varnish and another with dark varnish, were analyzed during the night in the operations trailer. The MB spectrum shown below is for a red varnished basalt cobble surface and shows pyroxene in the rock and the oxidized (i.e., Fe 3+) nature of the varnish.
