Overview |

The ANB contains all scientific and engineering data produced as experiment data records (EDRs) during the field test. The EDRs are processed into standard and special products in browse and full-resolution versions. The following table summarizes data typically returned during a field test. (Items in italics are not available currently.)
ImagesBrowse versions of standard and special products are available from this site. Note that the thumbnail and full-resolution browse images are in JPEG format for portability. The JPEG format uses a lossy compression scheme, thus browse versions of image data are degraded from the original and should not be used for scientific analysis. Full-quality versions of standard and special products are available as TIFF images via ftp (see 'Accessing the data' below).
ASCII tablesIPS raw and processed data are available as ASCII tables. The processed data table has 10 columns as follows:

The entire contents of the Analyst's Noteobook, including data, documentation, and support files, are available via a combination of the web and ftp (file transfer protocol). The web interface should be used for accessing browse products and documentation, and for understanding synergies within the data. Ftp access should be used to access full-quality data products and the original EDRs. ANB web interfaceIn the current version of the ANB, data returned from the rover are grouped into events. An event is defined as a sequence of one or more consecutive EDRs from a given instrument, with no intervening EDRs from another instrument. Events are listed in summary tables ordered by sol, by instrument, and by target (when targets have been identified). Abbreviations are used in the summary table to save space. Below is a legend for the summary table column headings.
Instruments are identified by symbols within the summary tables to facilitate quick visual scans through the data. Clicking on an instrument symbol will link to a summary table of events for that symbol. The symbol key is as follows. Event pages contain data from all EDRs of an event, including associated browse products in thumbnail version. From the event page the user may may access full-resolution browse products and complete engineering telemetry. Note that browse products are degraded in quality and should not be used for scientific analysis. ANB ftp interfaceFull-quality data products and EDRs are available via ftp to the same address as the ANB web version. The directory structure of the ANB is shown below.
